Don't get me started I would love to.. I have about 5 boards lined up for the future quiver. Unfortunately I only have 8 months worth of college left and I have a feeling I'll need the extra money at that point in time.....

For now I think the Nalu 10'6 may be the pick. Hear it has a flatter rocker for the small surf, which I have a lot of. Also there's a dealer who may be able to get me the GT for a huge discount so I could be pulling the trigger in the next week or two.

Any final words regarding the 10'6?

It's the only board I have used since I got it ;D
It's been small and fun, which is exactly why I bought it.... I'll be back on my Prowave when the swell picks up, but I'm loving the longboard at the moment!

Actually last concern,

How is the stability? I am about 90kg on a 230L board right now and I have no idea what to expect from the 160L on the 10'6. I have completely mastered my current board but having never riden a board with such low volume, that big decrease worries me.

IMO.. if you're 90 kgs [about the same as me] you'd be much better on the new 11' Nalu.

DJ: I would love to get the 11' and thats actually my first choice.. but I have an awesome deal offered to me for a new 2014 10'6 GT at about $400 off and free shipping as well. Also I have heard that the new Naish line won't be available in my area until later this Fall, and as you know the prices are slightly higher than the 2014 line.

When it comes down to it I would like to spend the extra money if the 11' will suit me that much better, but right now that 10'6 deal is more than tempting, especially when its about the same price as the 2015 GS 11' would be. What do you think?

I'd get that deal on the 10'6''.. and if you find it a little tippy consider selling it and get the new 11' Nalu later..

You should be still fine on the 10'6''.. Demo the 11' board when it becomes available.

Here's a vid using my 2014 10'6'' GT Nalu before I sold it.. If the new 11' Nalu hadn't become available I'd still have it.. and be very happy.

Got a chance to demo that 10'6 Nalu this week and all I can say is that it lives up to the hype. Only had a chance to paddle flat water with it but still very impressed. It took a minute to get used to the 30% decrease in volume from my current board but I fell in love after I got the hang of it. Can't wait to try it in the surf.

Now I just need to decide if I should wait for the release of the 11'0 or pull the trigger on the 10'6.....
Any suggestions? Due to price constraints, my options are the 2014 10'6 Nalu GT or the 2015 11'0 Nalu GS. About the same price due to the offers I have received, just not sure if I should go ahead with the 2014 since it'll be the GT.

Can't really offer real life experience on that... but at your weight, I am willing to bet that the 10'6 GT will surf noticeably better than a heavier, longer GS.

Just a guess... you are going to have to weigh out the pros & cons. but do not fear... trade-ins make updating easy ;D

Apologies for the interruption but Creek Have you gone BACK to Longboard SUPs ?

Those 10'6" Naish boards must really be something special!

And a blue Alana? Who are you, Supthenaish the East Coast DJ?  ;D

Ake... sort of by accident. I HAD given up the search, because I was never able to find a board that "Did it" for me.
Then a friend bought a 10'6 Alana for his wife and I used it for a session.... ran right out and bought one (well... I ran 200 miles and bought one)

I had been missing the "longboard" experience, so I have ridden it exclusively for 3 weeks.

Yesterday, I was thinking it was time to jump back on my Prowave and mix it up a bit. ;D

But.. yes.... very happy with the Alana.  The shop had several Nalu's and Alana's. He selected the lightest of each for me.... turns out the Alana was the lighter, but more importantly... was properly balanced. The Nalu was definitely nose heavy. Not what you want in a noserider... so Alana it was. I much prefer the look to the Nalu yellow anyway, especially after I added the stomper. Great colors!

STC .......every time I log onto this site you have a new board ;D

The Nalu's are great boards, I've had the 11 4 now for a good few months and it is the usual go to board. It is so versatile that I know I will have a good time on it. I ride it with a 10 inch MDT fin.  Saying that, I had the JP 8ft 8 out the other day and whilst I missed the easy glide in....wow...I forgot what quick turns are all about.
And, now that I also have a 14 ft downwinder I have it all covered. Took me a while but not needing to buy for a good long while now....thank god.

As much as I love the new 9'5" Mana I'd suggest you get the new 11' Nalu..

I've had half a dozen surfs on mine in small surf and today finally got it out in some big waves..

I'm loving it more and more each time I paddle it.. I like it even more than the classic 10'6" Nalu.. It would be a great step down from your 12'x32".. Even though it's only dropping to 11'x31" it's a much more performance board with thinner rails.. more rocker and a pin'ier tail.

DJ,

I'm curious as to why your 11'0 Nalu GT does not have the prominent brushed carbon look. Any idea why? See the attached picture

It does if you look close.. But it's not as noticeable as that board in your pic..

btw.. That is Robby's own pre-production board.. (Proto)
