Super cool Creek!

Reminded me of windsurfing in the 80's.

There was stoke everywhere, but still a small intimate crew.  On the Cape when the wind blew people would come out of the woodwork and gather to pay homage at Kalmus beach . . . .

But I agree SUP has reignited the flame  ;D

Excellent Rick! It would have been something else! if your SUP quote made it in.

I love Winter surfing more than anything and (I think it was) the Vec guy mentioning going home to his wood stove post session that really hit home. My best memories of surfing are all during a snowstorm....the serenity and beauty of clean big surf in the snow is just epic!

Only problem I have is that corny and Sappy maudlin Acoustic guitar soundtrack! Too distracting in the edit.....cliched and kind of lame. (sorry that's the filmmaker geek in me coming out)

Living the dream Creek. Awesome waves, cool video. Being a SoCal boy, I can't imagine wearing a 5/4 and surfing with gloves and a hoodie. I've done the 85+ degree water, but never the  butt cold.

I can honestly say, I've never heard any of my surfing friends say "I'm headed to New England to surf this winter." Cheap airfare from LA to Honolulu during the winter. Let's see, Logan International flight costs more, and there might be a flight delay do to weather. Now if they saw your video, they might head that way. My in-laws live in HI, so I don't see surfing the cape in my near future.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

TD- you are right :D
Some guys are not happy about this video spotlight cast on the Cape... ha ha...
like people are going to come here, in winter, to get their ass kicked by frozen waves. ;D ;D ;D

Here are a few shots from the archives to show the spot that I referenced. It was an unbelievable tube for about 15 years... early 70's through mid 80's.... then one day it was gone. We never knew why it was bigger, hollower and thicker than the other beachies.... but it was.... back when wetsuits and boards sucked. Glad I was young and bounced well.

Now, when it gets big I head for the easier rock point breaks in New England. I don't bounce now... I just go splat. :o

#1 - Classic Newcombs Hollow - Gary Brook was the best tube rider of the bunch.
#2 - Me at Nauset Light, last one out on a big day.... low tide suck-ups and howling offshores made it near impossible to catch on my 6'4 Canyon
