@Jim: Right now I'm using a Black Project WQ8 that adds a fair amount of stability. I also have a Gladiator Hybrid on order so I'll give that a shot when it shows up. Stability on this board is actually pretty good. So far I've taken it out three times in a variety of conditions (last night was the time Lake WA has been flat since I got the Jav) and it's been a blast. I can totally feel it in my legs when I'm done though. 3 miles on the Jav feels like 9 miles on my Laird in terms of leg fatigue - I'm doing so much micro balancing and feet shuffling to keep it steady. Loving it so far though.

@PonoBill: I haven't had a chance to do a downwinder in the Gorge yet. I really want to make this happen, but I want to partner up with someone who knows what they are doing, at least on my first time out. The conditions look pretty nuts. How late does the season go before the weather becomes unbearably cold?

SalientOne: Time to buy a wetsuit! The Puget Sound / Lake W DW season really kicks in next month & lasts through the late spring. The Jav might be a little much to handle on a big day but I have an extra DW board.  Give me a ping if you ever want to go out. We usually do the run along West Seattle. Incredibly fun on a good day

Thanks Bluecrab! I have a wetsuit ready to go so I'll give you a shout one of these weekends. I've never done West Seattle, would love to check it out.
