New Camelbak Molokai
« on: August 01, 2014, 04:18:50 AM »
Anyone have one of these? Was wondering if there is a bit of storage space in it in the back - can't really tell from any vids etc. Has cargo type pockets at the front but wondering what I can get in the back?

Thanks

I have the waist (bum-bag) version.. and it's awesome.

You can see it well in my vid here.. Btw.. I can store my PFD inside it along side the bladder.. IMO it's much better than a back-pack type.

It's the Marlin brand.. I'm sure most brands would fit.

You can see it more clearly in this vid..

Thanks DJ - for a moment I thought you were referring to the red bum bag on the BMW ;)

Decided I will try two systems...found a very snug fitting normal type PFD which has a bladder pocket in the back and VHF radio pocket etc along with the usual goodies. This will be for the winter over here - where 5 or 6 mm wetsuits are the norm. Bit of added protection and warmth.

Summer - get a bumbag like what you have and stash an inflatable pfd.

Which pfd has a bladder pocket in it?  I might want one of those!

I'm meaning a back pocket for your water bladder ....not to help out pee problems on the move ;D

In case you mean the first one...I chose this one - the one the guy in the vid is wearing. There are actually a few now like this...

I have an Astral with an excellent hydration bladder system but it seems they quit making it. Its a shame because it sucks to pop your kayak skirt to get a quick drink when you're in a small eddy. Works great for SUP, don't understand why more companies dont have them.
