Mounting a GoPro on ISUP

Recently purchased an ISUP and want to mount my gopro on it.
Will it harm the surface to use the sticky mount pieces that come with the GoPro base?

Or would you recommend I figure out a way to use on the D rings on the board for attachments.

Recommendations?

I have the stands that came with the go pro and have ordered the Floaty Door (which I believe arrives with tethers as well)

GoPro actually makes a surfboard mount. It's white, and sticks on just like a regular mount, and it has another small white tether anchor that goes next to it in case your camera comes off the mount. it has a much larger base, presumably for that extra adhesive to keep it secure in rough water.    It also has a little rubber attachment to make the camera more secure on the mount. You get 2 for 20 bucks. I cant imagine the adhesive on the mount would harm something as tough as an inflatable board.  you don't really need one of the overpriced floaty backdoors since you can also simply run a thin line from your camera to one of your d rings in case it does come off the mount.
