SUP surf friendly spots around LA/ Venice

Hey everyone,

I'm relocating to Southern California and Im going to be at UCLA for a month in Oct for training. I was wondering about SUP friendly surf spots as well as any possible meet ups? Ive been in Ak for the last year so I'm gonna be a bit rusty but looking forward to getting back on the water!

I can't really speak to much of the west side but perhaps the Redondo area. Any wave of decent size/shape is going to pretty localized.

El Porto, I hear get's quite a few but the landlord is there too. There was another spot, "shitpipe" that had some SUPS a while back.

I'd opt for an early rise and drive south beyond the Orange Curtain.

I hear the parking structure beneath Pauley Pavilion is great for flatwater.

From UCLA, take Sunset to the beach. Turn left, then watch your right side til you see folks paddling into waves. Won't take long.

You're good to go.
