Southwesterly got one, and it is really a beautiful board.

Paul (SCruzSUPr) also got one, but I have never seen it.

I was thinking of getting one if my balance improves enough between now and next year, when I exhaust the lessons the Vernor can teach me and it has become a dinged out FrankenBoard.

I was hoping to shoot for a 8'5" x31 at 140L if I could manage it.

I bought the bigger Hammer (9'5" x 33") as a board that I could paddle anywhere and still be able to surf on. Since then it has been the only board I've been surfing on. Truth be told, it's SO frickin' easy to balance on while still being really surfy.

I have since changed some of my beliefs on stand up board design. I think standard surfboard theory works great on the little boards that you see the pros ride. Thin rails, pulled in pintails and low volumes work great for them. I've been very honest with myself on the waves I ride and the surf I go out in on a stand up. I'm 58, weigh 225 pounds and have been in the ocean most of my life. Hey guess what? I mostly surf head high and under point waves. When it's big I just go father into the bay.  I've had some very memorable sessions on days when the forecast called it "flat" and I was the only person out. I don't want a board that I have to wobble around on with no increase in wave performance.

The Hammer's full nose, flat deck and wide tail all add up to a board that is really easy to paddle around on. The flatter tail rocker with release the last three inches really loosen it up while still maintaining speed. I can do a full roundhouse cutback on it, a criteria I use to judge stand up boards. I've had smaller more foiled out boards that surfed way stiffer. Let's just say this board is not holding me back.

This is supposed to be fun, right? Would you buy clubs that made golf harder? I would like to demo a smaller Hammer someday. But I ask myself, why?

Got a Hammer 'for my wife'  ::) ::) ::) this last Christmas - custom carbon dream machine 10' 3" x 33" - this board is taking my surfing up a notch (ok, six notches, from the basement to almost 'in the lineup')..  At first it just ran right out from under me.  Now I am loving it for wave days.  The Hammer is surfy, stable, and really fast, making sections I was sure were long gone.  I am 6'2" 215 lbs bare nekkid... Don't worry, Carl, most days I remember to dress before going out.

Walked up towards the nose right offn' the pad the other day.  Nose riding is a first for me.  Can't say enough good things about this board.  Big shout out to WD, Dave and Al at the shop in 805.  You all rock, and I am stoked for life.

It's my next board too, Outside...played around briefly on a 9'6" and it was just a wave-yarder.  Caught everything and just flew down the line.  Since I'm currently on a 10'5" Widepoint, I'd like to see if I can go down to an 8'11" and maybe add a little width.  Saving up my nickels and trying not to annoy WD and the bunch at the shop just down the street from my office with too many visits where I just dream and wonder.  Hoping to pull the trigger before the big winter waves get here.

Mahalos guys...
We're getting great testimonials from folks with a wide array of skill sets on just how darn fun and versatile Da Hammer is...pics show it being ridden from all 3 riding sections...nose...middle...and, off the tail...

Our Canadian distributor in Ontario just got a shipment and they are going fast...our East Coast distributor is also scrambling to get more...we have a container that just landed and is clearing customs...plus, I have a stack of CNC blanks in our production sizes, ready to be custom built at our glass factory here in California...

One of our two Hammer families was at San Onofre recently and said that 1/2 the boards in the water were Hammers...that's cool...but, the percentage is even higher here in the 805...;-)

Well, does my wife count?   ;)  She's had her 8-10 x 31 a couple months now in everything from imaginary waves to overhead Doheny.  I've seen her do things shes never done surfing.  She's thinking of going shorter in the future, paddled the 7-11 and surfed the 8-5 quite well.

My son has been stealing mine for midweek trips with my wife.  They both like a 2+1 set up where I prefer quad.  He's 6-3 and about 200 lbs. and says he'd get one like the 9-5 x 31 wide he demo'd.

My 9 year old niece just demo'd WD's 7-11. She has no surfing, boarding or any related experience at all fell only once in a half hour trying.  She  made a friend of a seal, and now she's talking about actually catching some waves.  This from a girl that says...mmmm, no to every new and adventurous opportunity. (Maybe it's a good thing that Wardog doesn't make it in a soft top or the line up would be packed.)
