Mistral Ventura 14'
« on: May 30, 2014, 12:15:27 AM »
Has anybody paddled Mistral Ventura 14’0“ x 27.5“ ? Looks pretty good. Ventura weight is 12.6 KG
http://www.mistral-sup.com/index.php/products/board-finder/sup-boards/ventura-14-0.html

and compare to Fanatic Falcon 14'0" 25.5'' HRS (dont know the weight) for lakes and sea- no big waves in Adriatic sea in summer.
Any comments?

Keep SUPping,

Marko

Marko,
There no comparison at all the Ventura is a 1980's WS Rocker and rail configuration is all wrong for SUP Not to mention fin placement and shape. last but NOT LEAST the construction of the Falcon is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the old Ventura

You can't go by length and width only

i paddled both Ventura and Falcon. Falcon is way better board. Ventura is an outdated design. Too wide. I would recommend the Falcon. The width of the board depends on your paddling skills and weight.

JimK,

I don't think we are talking about the same Ventura- this supposed to be new one - tourin/race 2013 with 'Axe Bow’ nose. I saw they were using them in last's year 11 Cities SUP race in NL.

Marko,
I am talking about the ventura in the picture. Yes, in that race some people used that board because they were available to rent. Still I like Falcon better. It is a more versatile board. Ventura, which was called M1 before is more for flat water but its design and weight is behind the competition IMHO.

I hate when WS companies name the SUP's the same as their (old) WS designs....But then fanatic STILL makes a WS Falcon and the SUP Raceboard Falcon

Very confusing (to me)
