Actually could be fine, just a bit scary at first sight.

It is actually a good thing.
Many suppliers - and a growing list of retailers.
Just sharing ideas / thoughts.
Nothing sinister like changing board design.
More of a "how to we keep this industry alive" type of thing.

It's been around for a couple of years.

I think I am still the only Canadian retailer.

Easy Rider--yes, I agree.  I looked at their website and facebook page.  I may be naive, but I think manufacturers and retailers may be better at advocating for the interests of the typical paddler than any other group, since after all, they know what their customers are interested in, and they see the full spectrum of paddlers.

But I just saw that logo, and had nightmares of more groups with more acronyms, more sets of rules, more sanctions, etc.   :o

Incidentally, when SUPAA announced its board restrictions, I contacted several board manufacturers (including Naish, Starboard, and Speedboard) who all make boards that are too light, too narrow, or too deeply recessed to meet the SUPAA rules.  In every case, the top people got right back to me and wrote thoughtfully and candidly, and in detail about their thoughts.  I was impressed by all of them.
