I think having dealers there would be a bad idea. They would potentially make this into a try this try that but buy this cause I'll give you a great deal.

I think zoners only and they bring at least 1 board more if they can, no dealers or even shop reps at all, if someone has a board they might want to sell to fellow Zoner then they could make that side deal.

It should be about fun and trying as many different boards as possible !!

TIMAPALOOZA! - The Oceanside sessions where the lovechild of Strand Leper just to give him credit.

Coran Addison /Tim provided a lot of those boards. There were lots of folks from Kings SUP-Position(Ralph) there but don't know if they brought boards for schlubs like me. The real gain was people like Big Ed who let me ride is new and unmarred daily driver from L41 (which I subsequently ordered my own).

I think the toll in place for eliminating the schlubs was that it was in February and it was 33 fricken degrees!

Stoneaxe, this sounds like a great idea! I'd head down to Nantasket to hang out with some Zoners and try some different boards. I've got a couple boards that I'd be happy to share with others too.

We need folks to do it at other spots too. There should be enough of us to do this even in multiple spots in New England never mind every where else. I'd love to see 20 of these go off this summer with 10 or more zoners at each...  8)

Don't get me wrong, I think we want dealers and reps that are zoners, we're all part of the family here, and their input is as valuable, maybe more so, as anyone else. We just need to state our bias. I just don't think we want to mix this with a demo day for non-zoners. I have no problem sharing my boards amongst us but that's as far as it goes. I often invite folks I don't know to give it a shot on my boards if they show interest, but that's one at a time while I'm there watching. I wouldn't want my quiver laying on the beach to be tossed around by 20 newbs though....no offense to newbs... I remember my newb days fondly...easy because it wasn't long ago.. :)

Do we have any idea of a date yet. I've got 3-4 boards to bring. In a couple of months I should have one of those new Hydra take-down boards too for people to try out. If it's summer, July is lousy for me, but August isn't too bad. Would this be pre or post CCBC?

It would have to be post CCBC. I'll have my hands full until then. We'll see if it even happens. Doing just one here would be OK but the more the merrier. Subjective info is always best when there is plenty of it from a wide variety of sources. Having 8 big guys (just an example) giving their opinions would only matter to other big guys.

Is anyone who is interested in this form the san diego area?

I will be at San Elijo Campground May 2nd thru May 11th, so if anyone in the San Diego area, wants to get together, I will have 3 boards, and maybe more, from 8'4" to 8'11".  Cardiff is easy access and sup friendly.  I will be in a motorhome, so going to another site is not an option, unless one of my kids come down from the OC.

I agree that public noticing a board swap is a no-no.  Most of you I don't know, but because of this forum, I am willing to take a chance on letting you try my board(s).  The Oceanside board swaps were great and Strand Leper bringing his Keurig coffee maker, made the February weather palatable.

Keep it forum only, and as far as reps and manufacturers go, why not let them bring some boards? Just tell them its not public.  Tell them its for an "exclusive clientele".

Stoneaxe, that timing just might work for me, if this happens. Let me know if there's anything I can do.

We'll see how it goes. I'll definitely do at least the one here. I'd encourage anyone that wants to join in to do it whenever its convenient for them this summer. We'll put together a standard review form before the 1st one with input from anyone here that wants to chime in and setup a thread for results. It would be great to see a bunch of these by the fall....though I won't hold my breath.... ;)

How about wife or girlfriend swap day and reviews?
What?
No?
Okay, never mind.  :-X
It takes a quiver to do that.
