Also a paddle out at Doheny this Friday.

Quote
On Friday, April 18, a public paddle-out will take place at Doheny State Beach, where surf and sailing fans are welcome to join a celebration in the water from 4 to 7 p.m. The ceremony begins at about 4:30 p.m. Doheny State Beach officials are letting memorial attendees park for free.

There's also a meet up for the SUP paddlers at 3:30pm Friday at Baby Beach that want to launch there and paddle out the harbor to the paddle out memorial.

I'll be there. I think I'll bring my backpack... with some cold ones ;) and a camera or two.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Lots of people showed up in all kinds of watercraft to pay their respects to a man who created so many things that we all love to do.

It was a great sendoff to a great man. Everyone got to ride a wave in too.

Every time we lose a Hobie or Velzy we lose a little more of the sport.

Wow, I'm impressed!!!
From a 64 yr. old southern Cali. native (who's no longer there), I have to say, that was sweet!  ;)
I hope the family is getting pics like this.
It takes a quiver to do that.
