Race is on Paddle Guru now:  https://paddleguru.com/races/ProvidencePaddleBattle

Still working on details such as board drop-off, parking, vendor village location, etc.  If you or anyone you know is interested in setting up a vendor tent, being a sponsor or helping out in any way, please let me know.

I wanted to bump this thread again.  We've been working with the city of Providence, the Providence Police and the US Coast Guard for 6 months trying to come to an agreement and compromise on the location and routes for this race.  After sitting through a city meeting yesterday, we finally got the green light and full support from all of the parties involved.  We had to move the location and alter the courses but we're still hoping for a great event.  The routes still bring you a good ways into the city so that element will still be there, it just won't be finishing in downtown Providence like we originally wanted it to.  Hope to see some local Zoners show up!

Speaking of which...Does anyone that is going have an extra 12'6" or 14' board and paddle I can borrow for the race?  I'll be on the opposite coast of my equipment and it's looking like I'll be on some rental equipment for now.

Hey man, I think we are having two 12'6 boards dropped off for us for a race the following weekend. We'll have those at the race so if you want to use one of those, go for it. One is a SIC and one is a Bark.  Shoot me a text when you guys get in on Friday.

We're putting the final touches on the awards right now and getting some last minute raffle stuff so if anyone has anything at all they want to donate to the raffle, let us know and we'd be happy to comp your registration fee.

Have 25 people already registered and hopefully
About twice that signing up on Sunday.

Feels really good to be back on the east coast. Hope as many people can come out and make it.

JayInSoCal - If my 14' Naish Glide isn't sold by then you can borrow it.

John, I'd love to try out the 12'6 SIC if possible? Maybe use it for short race?

Saw your entry come through Stoneaxe, awesome!  Thanks to everyone that has registered.  We've had a bunch of registrations today, putting us at 31 (plus about a dozen or more that I know of that will be registering the day of).  We didn't expect much of a turnout given the late notice we received on getting the green light from the city but we're excited.  We've had some key sponsors step up in a big way too.  Updated race poster with our current sponsors is below.

Also, we could still use any donations for our raffle - we want to make this as good as possible given the timeframe.  If you, or anyone you know, has anything they would like to donate, please contact me directly and I'll be happy to provide a free race entry comp.

PDLSFR - shouldn't be a problem, it's actually one of Kim R's boards that she's letting us use for the Newport SUP Cup the following weekend but I'm sure you can give it a spin or paddle it in the race.

MrBig - got your PM, I should be able to get you hooked up with a board, let's touch base Saturday eve before the race.

Stoked for a fun day!  Looks like at least one west coast Zoner is gonna meet a bunch of east coast Zoners.

Just signed up for the 9 miler. I'm feeling pretty good after the CCBC and stoked to see you Kayadogg, as well as other zoners being part of this event(Mr Big keep that arm straight!). You were talking about the change in venue etc., just looking to get the physical address for parking so I can punch it into the GPS for Sunday. Winds are looking a bit strong at this point for Sunday. That should make things interesting... See ya there!

Mr Big and others ~ I can contribute to the cause. I have a 12'6 fanatic fly race and 14' bark dominator that can be used. Pickup up in Sandwich before 4:30pm tomorrow (going to Pats game). Id like to have participated and gone out in style but the wife went to NY and left me with 5 kids and 3 dogs.  :P :-\
