Downwinders near Carmel?

It looks like I will be spending most of my summer in Carmel this year after not having a lot of time their last year. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on downwind possibilities anywhere in that area. I know there is some good stuff up in Santa Cruz, but ideally I would like to limit my driving. I thought about buying a membership with Ikitesurf.com for the summer, but figured I would rely on local knowledge first. This is also an open invitation/request to anyone who wants someone to paddle with for the latter part of June and most of July.

After growing up there I feel like I should be more aware of where there would be good spots, but most of my time was spent trying to avoid the wind instead.

If you're on Facebook try Ghostryders they're a great group of folks.   While they're technically out of Santa Cruz I'm sure a bunch live out of the area.
