Sanding now.
Color Doesn't look that great.
Thinking of how to put on final finish.
1. Epoxy with pigment final coat. Wondering if I can put it on and not have to sand it and polish.
2. Coat it with matt transparent polyurethane
3. Prime it and then full coverage red polyurethane. This most work and expensive, done this before...

Looks good. I reckon a semi gloss poly or acrylic spray would bring the colour out nicely.

Well i went out and bought the clear 2 component polyurethane and matting agent. Have same in white in stock.
Plan is to do a white area that fades,  on deck area under medium grey pad.
Make the fade by sanding it down, give it that handmade look.,  then paint whole thing in clear matt.

Wish me luck..

Changed my mind on position of foot steering after a float test and seeing where my feet will be. I'm going to put it in the center and have wires above deck. Experimenting with paint before doing it all.

When I reglassed my F18 I ran the wires on the deck through drip irrigation piping. Stuck it down with tape and put the deck pad over it. Easy.

Hej Bill,

I have 6mm od,  4 mm id tube. Thinking the pad would not stay down and buldge... But I could do experiment...

Have picture?  im totally new to steering and only seen photos of them.

Clear coat on. Its not pro level because I brushed it on, but looks pretty good.
Next year I'll spray it on.
