I've got two "14ft" downwind boards that are of noticeably different lengths.

It really depends on the weight and length of your arms. As your arms swing forward and back it creates what boaters refer to as pitch and surge. The proper length of a 14' board will vary based on how far your arms swing about.

I've just started a new company, 'SUP Fitters International' and I'd be happy to take you on as my first client. I'll offer you our 90% off rate so it will only come out to $498.99 USD. By submerging your arms in a fish tank we can get a relative guess of the size of your arms by the volume offset and use that to fully customize the length of your 14ft board. (Patent Pending)

What is the best length for a 14' board?  And why?

The engineer answers: "Its 14 ft +- the tolerance required."

The lawyer answers: "I'd argue its 15 feet and find 10 witnesses to back that up."

The accountant answers: "What do you want it to be?"

Personally... I prefer (2) 7 footers.... twice as fast. Plus you have a back up.

Well, there is another thread going now that should have the answer or formula for the answer contained in it somewhere.
If you can't find it there.......check you SUPPA book.

FCS adjustable leash. Because you can customize the length as the leash stretches out over time.

Area 10--this is a "gear" question.  I thought I'd get at least a couple paragraphs and some statistics and irrefutable logic from you!

On the positive side, nobody has tried to argue that the answer is 4 meters.
