I too would be interested in responses from different parts of the world. Mick, it seems in Australia all the top boards are around the same price- about $2700 AUD.

I scored a one-time only deal on a carbon Starboard.
A 2013 model 7'7" for $1699.
My 8'0" carbon Pro was $1500 sold as a demo board.

I'd be hard pressed, seriously, to drop $3G's on a surfboard.

Being a noobie I bought a used Blair production board.  The next board will be a total custom with similar rail/bottom contures, if possible, to the short boards in the quiver.  It's going to be under 7'10 and most likely be carbon.

^ needs to be pretty damn soon. when i saw this years naish prices i nearly had a stroke. guess robby needs another new porche for 2014. the prices really seem to vary depending on the company. a few out there are doing good stuff for great prices still. the Boardworks Minimod retails at $989. obviously custom can get you a perfect board for a smaller amount of cash.  i personally would rather have 2-3 mid range boards that i can swap in and out then only one super good board that cost me $2800

I can't speak to Custom board (as we do not handle them) But we offer a significant ZONER Discount on all brands we carry Any time.

I don't mean for this to be a commercial for my shop(Please accept this as my apology to anyone offended) just saying there are deals

The pace of improvements in the design of SUPs will likely slow
after moving forward dramatically over the past several years.

There are more and more quality used SUPs for sale at lower prices.

Early adopters (who pay premium prices) will start to look for the next new thing.

I think prices will moderate.
