SUP'er at 1:58 was Jeff Clark.

I'll repost what I added to video: The steepness and anger of those waves was lost from above 45 degrees and from fish eye of GoPro.  This is starting to push the limits of what can be done.  To really capture the awe, because that day was pretty big, will require pushing your skills and willingness to take the risk that the surfers are taking.  Low, fast in the power zone.

Apparently some people were not happy about it.  Funny read though.

'The ocean is my private space',  LOL, what a bunch of loons.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Looks so docile from above.
Taller than most, shorter than others.

As a surfer I think this vid is more understandable.  Although the view is
flattened out, such an overview of a larger surf, wide open spot like OB was
very enjoyable.

The complainer went overboard with some of his comments, but I think he has a point.

I don't think he meant to imply that he thinks the ocean is his personal space, as if he owns it.  He was referring to his "personal space" (and others' personal spaces) in the ocean.

I can sympathize with his general point.  I'm sure it will become an issue, including a legal issue, as flying cameras get more prevalent.

Surfline.com used to have various rating systems for surf breaks around the world. They included perfect-o-meter, poo patrol,
bikini element, access, and most important "Bicep" burn. That one was the difficulty of paddling out. 1 was Waikiki. 10 was Ocean beach.
When it's big, just getting outside immediately ranks one up there with all the chargers

Reading the comments on Surfer made me think of all the wankers I've met--who fortunately comprise a tiny percentage of surfers. The sense of entitlement and Ego is remarkable, plus the ability to stay irritated over something trivial. Instead of looking at something new and seeing the possibilities, all they see is the "treat" to doing things the right way, which of course is their way. In a different age they'd be the mob, burning Giordano Bruno
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

I lived 3 blocks off OBSF for 4 years and prone surfed it regularly.  There are 90 cool people in the water to that one 'drone hater' (except at Kellys - those in the know, know)

If its OH+ at OB and you have anything to focus on besides getting mauled by a set on the outside i salute you.

Awesome drone footage. I can't even imagine surfing those waves, SUP or prone. Looks so easy when the locals are taking it apart though. Dude here in NJ on LBI where I live rocks a drone cam. I've only seen it once and was pretty fascinated by it. He only captured me standin' around waiting on a set though. I did have my SOLOSHOT working so I managed to capture the sesh. One of the better days for us.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I love this footage, but the birds eye view does no justice to how heavy it was. I was out this same day up the beach closer to Rivera St. No drones or drone haters.
