Great report and great Pics.  Thanks for sharing...

 We have those dreaded sand fleas in mainland Mexico, summers the worst... Locals call them Jejenes.  FRIGGEN  things can go through screens and chew you up.. I found that sleeping in the open at night in a hammock the best...Just build a fire under your hammock, let it die down and add coconut husks to smolder all night, those bug and mosquitos hate the coco smoke.. smoldering Egg cartons work also.
