Diy shoulder carry straps?
« on: September 29, 2013, 01:38:42 PM »
Anyone make a Diy shoulder strap system to carry your board? I saw something online but it seemed a bit rich at $40.

I bought a Naish one - nice and simple, light and wraps away into a wee bundle and hardly noticeable in a bumbag. Not too pricey from memory.

DIY:  Yes!  You can save your money, find some extra 1/4" rope and nylon webbing to cover your shoulder.

I bring this thing with me nearly every time I surf (stuff it in my wetsuit).  It is easier to carry your board on your shoulder than with a handle, and allows me to paddle to another spot, surf and potentially walk back without worrying about the 'tote.'  It is a must for any travel more than 100 yards.  Works on all boards up to 12' (or less than ~ 30lbs.)
