Board goes...

Sure does.    :D

Looks like you could have moved even a bit further forward to get all the nose into the water - so it pierced instead of "sprinkling"...and got a bit more tail out of the water.

Either that or you could fatten up a bit...... ;D  (sorry Peter, couldn't resist.)

It ain't over until the fat board sinks....

Looks great.. Just hope there's enough nose rocker for downwinding.

I think the 2012 model will be the go-to downwinder....

I did try and stand further forward and it felt about the same - I normally have someone check the tail and move around until I have a clean exit off the tail more than focus on the entry.

Did a lightwind dwd yesterday - 10-15knots barely enough to build runners but there where little ones and the nose does poke in a fair bit if you stay forwards, but like the LE, this is not detrimental, as you don't feel much deceleration. You can avoid this by stepping back and that is how I ride the 2012/13 Glide - with the nose just out at all times.

Board felt fast, but, most importantly, super easy. Very stable so you can focus on paddling. It also felt more willing to steer which is a big positive over the old Glide.

GoPro fogged up but here is a pic:

So this model is pure downwind and or flatwater board.
It is not for chopped water. Right ?

Wrong.. IMO.. If it's designed to work well on downwinders [as it is] then I'd say it's designed to handle choppy water.

I had the impression that the Javelin GX was the one to handle choppy water....

The 14' Javelin is actually very tricky in choppy water.. IMO.. It likes things calm and smooth because it can be pretty tippy for most people in choppy water.. But.. If you are good enough.. and light enough.. the 14' Jav is an awesome downwind board and it's because of that this board has evolved.. The took what made the Jav so good and fixed the things that made it so hard.. They made it wider and hardened up the rails at the rear making it much more stable and surfable but they kept the low rocker and piercing nose with a bit more volume in it than the old Glide.. They have also made it happier to be pearled and should come straight up straight without any slowing.. They have made a big boy version of the famous do-it-all shape that the LE Jav's are.
