Costa Rica - Trip with BlueZone SUP
« on: July 28, 2013, 10:43:43 AM »
Just got back from the http://bluezonesup.com/ SUP camp an these guys have it going on. They are locals to the area and have the breaks dialed-in. We SUP'd (by ourselves) some juicy point breaks, and beach breaks as well. Wave count was unlimited! They took care of everything...picked us up at Liberia, we grilled out or hit some area restaurants for lunch and dinner. Some guys brought their boards, but they also have a great quiver onsite for charging waves. They hooked us up with ATVs, and we took an afternoon to go fishing..hooked a marlin and a few sails. Solid trip, great group of guys.

Nice! We probably were there at the same time -- just a different guiding company.  We hit Nosara w/ Experience Nosara (www.experience-nosara.com) and had a wonderful time.  Point breaks were waaay too fun and completely to ourselves.  Nate (owner) was fantastic.  Great guiding, instruction and gear.  Rode some Machetes that were 9'0 and 9'6.  Nice carbon paddles.  He's got a bunch of other gear available too.  Looking forward to heading back again in a few months.  FYI - last trip I brought down my own board to Nosara.  Based on the gear Nate has and the value he provided as a guide...I won't bother w/ my own gear again for this trip.

Very little rain during our trip.  just an afternoon sprinkle each day.  Keeps the dust down and less people in the water, too!

Just back today from Playa Hermosa and Guiones.  Really fun trip, the weather has turned and the water up north was clear.  Waves were great-don't think I was much appreciated in Hermosa, but Nosara/Guiones-no problem, everyone was great.
