Need fin screw for 2010 Starboard Blend
« on: October 07, 2013, 10:31:34 AM »
I bought a 2010 Starboard Blend from a fellow Zoner in June and have misplaced the fin screws.  ::) Any suggestions how I can order new ones? -

I assume you're referring to your center fin? If so, I believe its a US Box (or Longboard Fin Box)... if you're just missing the screw, you can go to a hardware store - make sure you buy stainless steel. If you are also missing the screw plate, call your local surf shop... they should be able to help you with anything fin related.

You could look around in my truck--must be 50 of them in the nooks and crannies. Otherwise get thee to any surf shop, and buy about ten. Stick them everywhere and when you need one you have a chance of finding one.

Ahhh--do you mean flush allen head screws for thrusters? Once again, get thee to a surf shop, though you might find stainless grub screws the right size and length at your neighborhood Ace hardware store. They're called Grub Screws or blind set screws. If you take along a fin key (there's probably one in your board shorts) you can try the key in various grub screws. The ones that it fits are probably right. You need the set screw to be slightly inside the hole when the fin is tightly held.

Beware, Naish were metric. Probably starboard is too.

FCS hex key would not fit a Naish.
