Don't know.. but I can find out.

The NSP flatwater 12' is getting fatter is all I know. Better for the off the couch paddler. We used the 12 Flatwater for our go to huge guy lesson board (250+).
The DC wides that I have instock 14 and 12'6" are two different boards. Constant rocker on the 14 and kicked tail rocker on the 12'6". I makes me think the 12'6" is a BOP design. Still waiting for the 14 by 26. Did someone poke Sparky today about 14's. Its your turn.

Given that the new shapes are probably awesome, are the older NSP 12'6/14 models OK?  You know, price/performance wise, how do the older shapes perform?

I've paddled all the old NSP boards and they are very good.. More for casual or recreational paddlers than your serious racer.. These new boards are more for your serious racers.

Thanks downwinder... Sounds like a nice open water all round board.

I took another look at the pics of its Cocomat finish after your comments ..  ;D
Too funny.  And true.  :D

I saw the new 14'x26" (blue) this weekend at a local race. Nice looking board for sure. The biggest advantage I saw is that you can really climb forward on it (long deck and pad) and bury the nose when going upwind. When going downwind you can obviously step back and let it do its thing. Looked like it handled well.  But did not get a chance to see it battle the wind and 1' chop as it pulled away early and finished 1st.

Actually having spent a couple of weeks with one I found the sweet spot is a little further back than a lot of boards. Unlike more pointy-nose boards of recent years and boards with big volumes up front the nose works best when you don't come forward an stick it right in. With these boards you need to pay attention to how you trim the tail for clean release and just trust the nose to do what it does naturally.

(I've ordered a 14 x 29, due in a couple of weeks)

I paddled the 14 X 26 at the BOP. Wind and chop in the course race and with a leash dragging didn't help my opinion. It does take off with swell and wind.
After chatting with the designer I stood further forward and made better progress in the long distance. I beat people I don't usually beat but still missed the quite bow wake of a narrow nose. This board is going to rocket in downwinders.
