SUP Sale at REI
« on: May 17, 2013, 12:12:17 PM »
I hope this post doesn't violate any board policies, but I wanted to let everyone know that REI is having a big sale going on right now (through May 27) on a lot of products, including SUPs and SUP accessories. Currently the only boards they have on sale are BIC brand (all 15%). ALL paddles are 15% off.  I just picked up a new Camelbak and got 25% off.  (btw, I don't work for REI. I just like saving some coin!)

REI members also get 30% off of any one item for the next ten days. Time to grab that Naish inflatable you've always wanted.

The discount code is for 20%. It can't be used on paddleboards, boats, bicycles, or GPS. Plus it has to be on a full price item. That being said a lot of there stuff is also on sale. I picked up a waist pack PFD last night. It was marked 25% off. I am considering a Go Pro as I still have my 20% plus last years dividend check to use.

They are advertising an NRS "Earl 4" inflatable, 10'6",  for $800. Anybody tried one of these? Good, bad, indifferent?

Nice. I might wait till later in the year when another 20% coupon shows up. I just bought a paddleboard and new fork for the mtb. Wife is starting to give me that look, rightfully so.

newbysuper i was on an earl last weekend also got to try the baron and a few other isups. i was pleasantly surprised by the earl. for such an economic board it really handles well on the river. it is less stable than others i tried that day (slight banana) but not bad given its price. i would definitely recommend that board to a rider under 190lbs.
