Incredible over-under footage.  With water that clear, you can't go wrong.  Beautiful video by Elliot

Martin has a surf camp there or is trying to establish one.  They may still be boating it.  The one problem, as you could see, is that it's shallow and any serious cuts or injuries will involve a long trip back to Hawaii where decent medical care is available.  The wave speaks for itself  but again it's the Dirty Harry question.

Yikes! That is one nasty reef rash. I don't know why anyone hasn't come up with kevlar board shorts and rash guards to help prevent that kind of damage. They have had kevlar protection for MX gear for years.

I took a trip over the falls at one place and ran across barnacles. I saw that I was going to get smeared so I got flat...bottom was flat so I thought I'd just float over most of it. Well, it was flat except for a rock with some limpids or something on top. Right over that MFer. Right to shoulder down to my butt got chewed up. Came in, washed off, put stuff on it. It bled on and off for the rest of the trip. :\

Kwajalein?  Visited there in the mid 90's but did not get a chance to surf it, only diving which was amazing.

Not for the feint of heart.... that's some serious power.... and he didn't make many of the waves in the video.

Beautiful wave... I'm sure some guys would pick their waves a little more conservatively. Hard to say for sure, just from the vid. You see vids of guys pulling in and not coming out and think: "Move over 15 or 20 feet on the reef..." but sometimes the longest window is from a little farther back. Hard charger, that one, either way...
