Thanks.  He loves the water.  Any water.  When I load a SUP he gets all wriggly.  ;)

Regrettably Sam is circling the drain these days. Great dog. Now he's deaf as a post and falls down a lot, but he's not in pain and he's still ready to bum whatever you're eating. So we're taking it day by day. He might fool us and live another three years, but i doubt it. He's 13.5 which is 94. At the risk of anthropomorphizing he's the most human animal I've ever experienced. Thankfully he can't speak or type. He'd be a pain in the ass.

Max the Pudelpointer was an incredible water dog, retriever and frisbee partner; sadly I lost him to cancer before I discovered SUP.

My current canine partner is Elvis; he's a talented bird dog but doesn't care for the water.

This is Harper. We'll find out some time next month how she feels about being on a SUP.

Diane objected to the nostril shot of Sam. Here's one of Sam at Pacific Raceways last weekend. He insists on a chair of his own, preferably upholstered with all pillows removed but one. He routinely rearranges the couch pillows to suit his preference.

So debonair!  Reminds me of the half Brittany half Lab mix we had when I was a kid.  We called him "the old smoothie" 'cause he could always finagle his way. Plus his coat was smooth.

My 5 year old Ridgeback/Lab mix Luna (short for lunatic  ;D). Very good puppy, great watchdog, loves the water, goes paddling... Got her from the dog pound at the age of 2. Animal control took her away from the previous owner. They had her tied up to a trailer hitch and neglected her. She was skin and bones when they took her.

I love dogs too much....simply can't do it again. My daughter and her dog live with us though and I get to babysit my other daughters dog occasionally. Unfortunately neither is much for the water. My two favorite dogs were both mutts, pound puppies, that were obviously mostly lab with a bit of shepard thrown in. Both crazy water dogs but both pre-SUP.
