I second the fin choice for the Jav being significant.  I've been using the Gladiator Hybrid which adds a great deal of stability in chop and wind but in perfectly calm flatwater, it seems to drag a little bit.  Talked to Larry last week and ordered a Ninja which will be the go-to fin for the Jav unless it's really nasty.

Once you buy or don't buy the board please post where and how you found that deal.
I've been looking for a killer deal on a Glide, Hobie Elite, Competitor or something similar.

gratefulsuper - PM me or contact me through our website. I have both a New 2011 Glide and used 2011 Javelin for sale. I own Stand Up Pittsburgh and we are a Naish dealer. The Javelin was used by me for just part of the 2012 season. Love the board. Just upgrading to a new model. The Glide was sent to us by mistake with one of our orders.

Chatted with my wife today and she agreed with the choice for the 14 Javelin.  Placed the order with California Kiteboarding today.  Officially, this is her board, but if she does not like it, she can have the Glide.  I do love my Glide!!  I am sure we will be swapping around and we will now have a real race board in the family.  I am not sure if I will be Joe Racer, I should be able to keep up with (or out run) my Bark riding friends on this puppy.  No more excuses.  So stoked to have a small quiver to choose from!!  Since we saved some money on the board for her, I am going to get her the best paddle around (IMO), a Ke Nalu, like I have.  Really looking forward to riding with her most of all.

Kaya, I think I wrote to you when you had your Jav listed for sale.  Please let me know how you like the Ninja fin once you try it.  I have one on my 14 Glide and love it. Have never even tried the stock Glide fin.  Anyone else ever try the Ninja fin on the Javelin, or have a better recommendation to improve stability, but not lose speed on flat water?

Gratefulsuper, Jason at California Kiteboarding advises me that there are probably only 1 or 2 of the new 2011 14 Jav's left on the east coast for shipment.  Otherwise, you would have to risk shipment from the west coast with more risk of damage.  My last two boards shipped from the west coast came in damaged.  Last one from east coast (Florida) came in without a scratch.    Not sure about quantity available in the west.  If you want one from the east coast, you had better act FAST.  He says he sold two on the east coast over the weekend.  Not sure where you are located.  Let me know how your board choice works out.  I am a Naish fan, especially at these prices for a new current shape board!!

Rideordie, thanks for the info. I am actually leaning towards a 12'6. Does California Kiteboarding have an East coast location or did you get yours from someone else ?

G-Supr, I do not know anything about your size, weight, paddling experience, conditions in which you ride, etc.  However, I would add that based on my experience a 14 board is significantly faster (maybe 15%) and has a much more pleasing glide (pun intended).  If you want some advice on the Zone, it is easy to get.  Just ask and provide as many details as you can.  I do not think that California Kiteboarding has an east coast location.  Somehow, they are sourcing the board from Florida.  Maybe Naish has some agreements or something that allows that.
