Coreban updated website.
« on: February 25, 2013, 09:04:18 PM »
Coreban finally updated their website. Looks good ( except the description on the “Dura Core Range” page). I like the looks of both the 9’3” Reactor and the 10’6” Echo.

No carbon boards?

Even that 7'0" is heavy.

Don’t be so hard on yourself CS, you’re a tremendous snob. ;D

It is funny that Corban uses carbon and Kevlar in their race boards but have resisted using this technology in their wave boards.  Then again, companies like Hobie have taken a conspicuous step away from carbon for their wave boards. Bla bla bla yadda yadda.

Coreban finally updated their website.

Really? Did they?
Everything looks a bit outdated, from website design to board shapes and even board construction options.
Being one of the initial SUP industry players, I feel that Coreban may have lost the train...

The website looks like it's 1/2 completed.  Links are broken, pictures don't size correctly and the logic of it all is very confused.  I haven't seen many web sites within this industry that are anywhere close to good.  Most are either a landslide of pictures and no explanation, or minimalist efforts where not nearly enough info is given.  I do like Ivan's vids though.

The other side of that coin is that the industry failings for web presence makes the Stand Up Zone the go to web locale for good honest info, reviews by experts, advice that works, and ...cheeky humor.

Call me Captain-Obious, but the trend seems to be, if you have a couple years of stand up behind you, and you are looking to expand your surf-quiver, you'll likely go custom.

Having said that, I'm still a big fan of Corban boards.  And as far as web sites go, how many other web sites offer the degree and quality of vids featuring Ivan?

Creek,

When South County was in operation John had a 9' X 33 board I think StoneAxe has/had one. Of the ones I sold most folks switched (to AW's) it lacked drive.

As far as weight sure their std construction is heavy but it looks DURABLE! But if one wanted a lighter version you can go to PURE (Wood deck)

I'm excited about the new Corebans

So Coreban is months behind schedule, then finally half-ass update their site.

Starboard's is up to date with photoshop'd riders and boards and waves...maybe they just used a green screen?
