Why stop at caffeine when there are so many more megaton stimulants on the scene?  Crank it up baby!  Works great with the girls too.

But seriously, coffee and tabacco are the only legal recreational drugs (well maybe not in some states) and sell on the commodity exchanges.  Maybe someday weed will also be in there with tobacco.  Fine company huh?

But you'll get millions of people standing up like Charlton Heston, if you ever took coffee 'off the table' so to speak.  "Out of my cold dead hands" is what you'll hear.

Stimulants tap your adrenals artificially.  Adrenals are there for when you seriously need them, not for when you just need to blab on and on about mindless drivel or 'wake-up'.  If the sound of the surf or howling wind doesn't get you 'up' and take a dump, you might question the program you're on.

Just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's beneficial your optimum  health.  SUP is fairly demanding and it's obvious  many people on this Zone are concerned about being at the top of their game.  Healthy eating and avoiding stimulants and alcohol (two parts of the same roller coaster)  are a great start towards that goal.

I completely agree with all of that...except for the stuff about coffee.

I knew you'd come hunting for me.

Truth is I'm addicted also and I'm also a wine-o.  Relatively light but a cup in the morning and a glass in the evening.  But I wean myself occasionally for week long periods  just to show myself I can still go to the throne without stimulants.  Chia seeds.

I admit I like coffee, but I haven't had any since 2005.

No amount of joy by being wrinkle free is going to surpass sipping on that morning coffee.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/06/110621093301.htm

A yet unidentified component of coffee interacts with the beverage's caffeine, which could be a surprising reason why daily coffee intake protects against Alzheimer's disease. A new Alzheimer's mouse study by researchers at the University of South Florida found that this interaction boosts blood levels of a critical growth factor that seems to fight off the Alzheimer's disease process.

Coffee?  Wusses.  I moved on to EPO, testosterone, and blood transfusions to get me going in the morning.

I prefer coffee enemas - and no wrinkles on my arse (at least none that aren't supposed to there).

an article in the L.A Times(May 18, 2011)states that coffee seems to reduce the rate of lethal prostate cancer by 60% compared to non-drinkers.
