New Sled

On its way to NC
Talked to Dave B yesterday after he rode it , his two words to describe it FAST and SMILES

7' Infinity Phoenix w/ Jet Tail

The next evolution in the Infnity Phoenix SUP line. Designed by Dave Boehne.

Our simmons style SUP's stay true to the authentic design characteristics and theories of the Bob Simmons hydrodynamic surfing designs.

In doing so, is what makes these boards come alive. There are many elements that must come together to get the intended "feel" of this design.

They do NOT "ride like a shortboard" and are not intended to. They are based on the capabilities of riding a crazy small board with the same volume as your normal everyday board. Short in length / High in volume... The small length allows you to put the board in more critical positions on the wave than your standard 10' SUP.

They possess instant speed. Low drag trimming. Great stability and paddling speed. Pump down the line, crawl the face, float, beat the section, loose in the pocket, FAST cutbacks, slide the tail, small wave specialists, and BIG on the fun-o-meter!

These boards are meant to ride as twin fins.

Ride them short and bump up your volume. Instant fun and one of the most addicting surf SUP's in our line.

CHill,

That's a board!  It's great to see people having fun with different shapes. Give us a ride report when you take it out.

how does it surf?  One thing I notice is that short board and long board shapes seem to have  stagnated but s up is evolving.  way cool

I do not think neither shortboard nor longboards have stagnated at all.

Longboard dev. are taking some cues from SUP..the new shortboards are insane. The shapes are so different from only a few years ago. Exciting all around. :-)

saw dave testing that beauty out the other day-dave has a way of wringing every last ounce of radness out of even the most meager wave-great looking board-seeing a few more of these "Fun" shape SUP boards in the line up now-how cool is it that we now have FUN shape SUPs.

He asked me if i wanted to try it but he said it was going to you and i didnt want to ding it with my luck!

Hooray for something that looks lots of fun - fish designs have got to be one of the best surfboard designs ever made.  What is the volume of it? Bet it goes like a rocket and slides ;D

Look forward to a East Coast review of this board and how it might do in VB and OBX. My son picked up a mini-simmons prone board from Southend Surfshop last week and loves it, so might be time for me to try the SUP version - currently riding a 10-6 Nolte. Can't wait to see the reviews.

Got to surf the board after Expo in small knee to thigh with onshore wind and it went well.
It still has the speed of the V1 but with the Jet Tail I'm able to square my turns up

Really like the low volume as it was stable even in some chop as the board was under water a bit can't wait for a real wave

Video soon when that happens

Heres a pic of the new fins to go with the Jet Tail, haven't ridden them as just got today
