Found another pic of this board that might be a Ron House?  It has a fin AND a rudder... very unique hull design... that looks fast but tippy... anybody paddled this thing?

Some of my friends have paddled that one and you're right about it being fast and tippy.  However, it does not have a rudder/tiller setup - just finboxes.  If you come Ta-hoenalu I think a few of these boards will be there and you can check them out first hand.

Ah, interesting.  I just assumed that was a rudder...

Someday we might get to the point where it will be hard to call these things stand up 'boards' since they are starting to look nothing like boards.  'Stand up surf-skis' maybe.  Perish the thought.  I'll deny having said that :)

What  would be the advantage of that larger  fin  in front of the   the smaller  tail fin ?
would  a   two fin set up like that have any advantages on a  downwind , displacement boat like board ?  increase  stability maybe ???

Hey Mike,
Check out the Gallery, 2nd page under Gear.  There is a pic of the guy paddling it... looks a bit tippy.

It's really an ULI !!!

Not really - I was just having fun with Kyle.  I felt bad afterwards as he took 2nd to big Chuck in the Tahoenalu.  I blame the weight and drag from the sticker.
