You did not mention your age.  I've seen guys in their 60s on shortboards BUT you can not casually ride a shortboard over about 40.  You'll have to be dedicated.  I'd not go that route for a board you plan to use once in a while.
OK, but what if you're gonna be 53 in less than a month, but still think you're "about 40"?  :D

Dang, those "mini simmons"/tombstones look like a blast, wanted one ever since I saw this clip....

.....not like I'd ever get it to perform like that, but it just looks so dayum fun.

Either that one, or since my wife accuses me of "trying to be a teenager" every time I jump on my Carver skateboard, I want to come home with my new "Fartknocker", and laugh like one...."hey honey, I just said fartknocker, hehehehe".

forgot about that vid Dave!
Well i could say he got the mad skillzzzzz from pops but you know me and have seen me surf so...... ;D
He makes those turns look so easy and fluid-those MS's are not easy to surf.
Really makes me wonder about the whole SUP/Simmons deal-but im really curious!

Always enjoy CD's vids....not only for the great surfing, but also really enjoy the music he (or you) choose.

BTW, what camera you using in all of the vids you're (or whoever's) taking?

+1 on the Mini Simmons. My favorite prone board.  Only down side they paddle slow because they are so short.

Those tombstones look amazing.  Also, look at the Huevo Ranchero from FCD.  No affiliation with them, just dig their stuff.

I like this too. I'm gonna take the 8'0" out and see if I can do some "longboarding" before I buy a longboard.

I still like the idea & look of a nice LB shape though.

Vibe is too wide to judge how much fun you would have with a longboard.  My log is only 23"w and my McTavish is 22.5".   Borrow a real longboard and catch a few at Sunset, you'll have fun.

I have been mixing it up and riding a bunch of different prone boards.  The 11' Munoz is really fast and my friend is selling it for $850.  The big wave SUP's are really fun to prone surf.
