Why dont I hear much about Infinity SUP?
« on: October 17, 2012, 02:03:15 PM »
As i get deeper into my search for a new board, I have found the cost of of custom from them tailored to me actually cheaper than the production boards I had been looking at. I received great feedback from both Steve & Dave there.

So why havent I been able to dig up for info about their boards here on the zone? Just curious...do you local guys out there on the west coast know something I dont?

I've wondered the same thing.  You're right about their prices too.  I live close to the shop and I have stopped in several times.  I love the shop and their boards seem to be good quality.  I have been board shopping and if I can't find a good craigslist deal then my next board will be a custom number from them.

I'm on custom number 3 with Infinity! They are truly love what they do and love to help people get set up.

Something special about a board made with human hands in the US.

I think Dave Boehnee has a super keen mind as to what makes SUPs work better, and better and better.

I found yellow TL on Craigslist to help fill a gap in my quiver. It was custom for someone else but perfect for a daily driver for me until my new board comes.

I think they are not big on the East Coast  or in Fla. But I have seen some.  I was out in California on Business and stopped by the shop and was very impressed with them and the boards.

I think YOLO has had Boehne design and make some of the newer YOLO race boards.

I'm on custom sup surfboard number 3 with them. I love the boards and they are great guys with a lot of surf history behind them. My new board should be done in a few days.

Jillride45 on here is a fan. Her and her husband both have Infinity's.(race boards)

I know three guy's in Wilmington NC that have them, one guy just got his second one last week.(race boards)

And

Myself...buying a 14'er off a friend locally here in FL. He is only selling it due to injury...non SUP related.

I know sup Annapolis in MD supports them too.

I too agree that they have great customer service!!! Dave was super about giving info and responding to all my emails.

Infinity is.a.great..company!  They have a nice.selection of performance boards for racing and surfing and have had their prone guns recently seen at Jaws.  Their team riders are competitive in surf and race.  They have a cool big black van.  I have never seen an infinity board in Michigan.  I would love to.try one out, race or.surf.  I saw Dave on his race boards at a.few.races.  He seems really cool.

It's awesome.

It'll nose ride and slide the tail.

It's a bit too thick for my taste at 4.5/8". I'm 6'6/220#.

I also have an 8'6 Infinity Blurr. That board basically rides like my short board...which is my prefererred way to SUP.

The TL is much more of an all around board so the tail and nose are much thicker than the Blurr.

So, coming off the Blurr, the TL feels slower and not as loose.

But the TL is way more of a Swiss Army Knife in that it's all day, any conditions board while the Blurr is a "when it's glassy and good" board.

I'll keep you in the loop if I get the urge when my 7'11 shows up.

I have been asking the same thing about the infinity boardworks models - no real feedback out there - is anyone ridding one?

Lots of folks are.

I've ridden the Slater Trout 9'0 and the 10'4 Wide Aquatic.

Boardworks Infinity's are slightly heavier, slightly tougher, and exactly the same cut as the standard boards put out for the floor.

They'd be a go to option for me if I was petite.

Great boards and great people. I get the feeling they're not big on the whole interweb thingie.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Great to hear all the comments...after reading this thread and my experience dealing with them both through email & phone, I think custom is the way Im leaning towards.

*Like* them on Facebook. They're always putting over their team riders.
