The quick mental calculation had confirmed his worst fear.  There was nothing to do but wait it out until midnight.   True, home was but a short paddle away.  But it may as well have been miles, as---^%&$ the unfairness of it all--Ted had just hit his 4,000-calorie-per-week exercise limit.

Wow!! Should have known this would be tough! My top 4 in no particular order:

paddlejones with his shortboarder remark
Sup the Creek leaving the Beachcomber drunk
southwesterly with his Adonis classified
6ft and glassy with his Shawshank quote

I do think that CRTraveler should weigh in as he is the subject. This was taken in Cape Cod during our gunkholing on the last day. We paddled til we had to either hike a dune, or go the long way around. The other side of the dune is Chatham Lighthouse Beach. Need to put the story in the new category. Thanks to all! This was fun!
