I am thinking I will pick up the 12'6" without the daggerboard for my next inflatable.  I can't discern any difference from the SUP version plus it will take a regular fin.

Watch for the new Exocet Discovery inflatable coming soon. It will do SUP, have a kayak option (seat-back) and also windsurf. I put it through it's paces at a product shoot last week at Ponce Inlet and I was very impressed with it's Swiss Army Knife abililties... Still tweaking but should have the shipping version at the Jan' 2013 Surf Expo. Here's a sneak-peak...         Paddle on;   JD

Good looking board. We'd love to have been there with you. Jacky and I arrive Nov 10. Hope to catch a sail or surf session with Steve or you.

Jim... They will be available through the Exocet dealer network or through the distributor (Aerotech in Daytona Bch) directly, if no dealer in your area...
Dwight... Let me know when you are down. I'm a hour and a half up the road but will come down if conditions look good to paddle or sail with you. Maybe we can even get Steve out of his cub-by hole for a sesh... Cell: 904806399Zero.              Paddle on;   JD

where does the mast base go?

It's so simple; Where the middle handle strap is located... The windsurf base-adapter is rectangular with oval, beveled-downward edges. It slides up under the center strap and the UJ screws right through the strap into the base-adapter...
As soon as our product-vids are completed, I'll post a link and you'll see how simple it is...      Paddle on;   JD

I'm interested in LIGHT weight.
The exocet is listed at 15 Kg, any idea what the Starboard inflatable weighs ?
I have a SUPer 12 6 from a couple of years ago, like it a lot but need to get something lighter for carrying reason - hauling to launch, etc.
Are the inflatables more scratch tolerant ?
I'm not expecting "Avon rubber boat tough", but something tougher than my SUPer would be an advantage.

Good Quality Inflatables and more scratch/ding resistent (SB, Naish, Fanatic JP probably others too)

i have a amundson hard board sup and a red paddle inflatable 10'6".
i baby the amundson and still have lots of dings and scratches.
we abuse the red paddle inflatable and still looks great. decently bomb proof.
like "sprint surfing": full tilt sprint, jump onto deck (2feet up) from dock, and surf a wave created by passing boat!
you do lose a little performance with inflatables compared to hard boards but still loads of
fun.
