Pocket Rocket demo In San Diego?

Hi -
Anyone know if there is a shop in San Diego where I can demo a Starboard Pocket Rocket?

Also, I've never been on a SUP, but although it's been about 5 years, I come from a short board/windsurfing and surfski kayak paddling background, so figured I may struggle at first but hopefully it will fall in place relatively quickly on this shorter board. Well that's the thought.

how much do you weigh? I'm 165 and the PR was my first board...no complaints.  Might go shorter now though.

 Of course, that was a 2011. the 2012 is supposedly bigger/more stable/more volume so it's probably even easier.

Well went out for my first SUP session ever, on a Starboard WidePoint 8'2" X 32 and I was pretty tippy initially. Yeah, by the end of the 2 hour session I was paddling okay, but the board was very turny when paddling hard for waves which I wasnt thrilled about, but to be expected for a short board. Now has me doubting whether the PR is right for me as a first board, which is even narrower. Whilst probably great on a wave, not sure I want to work that much to catch a wave, with the limited glide of a shorter board. Starboard Converse 9.0 maybe?
