My company did the Haz Mat response to this lady's house to clean up the rocks they collected at San O.  The video here has a SUP surfer in the background.  Anyone know who?

The geologist in this vid is dead on correct, that wasn't a natural occurance.  My guess it was an unspent flare phosphorus that somehow adhered to a pebble and turned it orange.  Having dorked around with enough unexploded fireworks to know what evil they can cause... (the flaming death of a friends surfboard for one), that stuff can be nasty.  

Moral of the story, when you're at San O, leave them rocks where they be!

She was at Dog Patch. Might be from the glow-in-the-dark Phosphorus surf board wax? Using the rocks to scrap it off their boards. Oops.. I haven't got a patent on that product yet. I like how the Military says, "The incident had nothing to do with us." end statement. Of course they had time to do extensive testing these past 8 hrs. The Nuc-plant will say, "it's highly unlikely the plant had anything to do with it." end statement.

Not if I was doing their PR they wouldn't. I'd give them five pages on chemicals that can combust in that manner, two on the inventory of chemicals at the plant that don't have anything to do with list one, then two or three on radioactive contamination and the minimal heat emitted from common isotopes, two more on how little contamination has been released over the last five years. That's how you kill story: Spew.

The military gets away with that. Because they can.

Yes, those rocks are all over Dogpatch, seen them ignite with someone just walking on them, and giving them severe burns on their feet.....

This burning of the feet causes the person to fall, ignite a lot more rocks, and cause severe burns to their entire body.  Many have died from these odd, natural, or man-made occurrences....scientists are still searching to determine which.

Reports say the these strange occurrence happen with even more frequency when the swell picks up, and again, scientists are unable to determine the reason for this either.

So please, please......save yourselves, and do not come to SanO, and especially Dpatch when there are swells out in the water, until scientist clear the area of these unexplainable igniting rocks.

Sounds like a kids prank, and kids all to often don't see the full ramifications of their pranks.  In a case in Maryland a 3 year old was very badly burned by hydrochloric acid on a playground slide after some kids had poured HCl and bleach down it in an attempt to make a green cloud.  The kids were incarcerated.
