Sorry!  Super nice guy picked it up - the first to email at 7am yesterday.  Had 2 others in line behind him!  At least you got pre-approval from the better half - now you can ramp up the search.

You could still try one for free (as far as I know) - call Joe and set up a time.  Sometimes he has used boards too.  It's dangerous though - once you try that's all you'll be able to think about.  A new one isn't that much more expensive but you won't get a bag with it.

Oh sure, pile on.  Not only am I slow, but a fast NICE guy won this battle.  Grin.

AJR, you are right on when it comes to the approval process.  No doubt it's the biggest battle for a new board, and your posting and listing on craigslist was just the kind of appetizer I needed to keep my "master" plan humming along.  A few more of these tastes and she'll want the whole meal.

You selling it does kill my plan to go out down in San Diego this weekend. Maybe a trip to Santa Barbara is in order.

It gets much worse; he's retired, fairly young (in his mid 50's), and owns several condos somewhere in Mexico right on the beach (and the surf is good).  He & his wife live in one and rent the others to surfers.   Stand up has exploded down there and he's getting in to the sport after surfing for decades.  Lastly, to add insult to injury, he said that Gerry Lopez is often down there and they've surfed together.  Have a nice day!   Grin

Well, if it matters, I was going to use the board to teach nuns and orphans to SUP.  I'll pray for your soul.   Cheesy

*seriously...gratz on the sale, and think of the orphans the next time you sell a board.  You were probably already thinking about the nuns.

AJR--From previous posts, you have always been stoked on the Blair.  I was considering one last year, and remember some of your posts.  Did you 'outgrow' the size/float?
I've since got a Mana, and happy with it.  One thing I did notice during my search/research.....not many used Blairs for sale.  That's sayin' something!

Oh yeah - still a big fan of Blair and recommend them all the time.    Was ready to go shorter last year and found a used Coreban Fusion and thought I'd try something different.  Now I've got a custom on order (Dave Craig) - yet again going smaller.  I vowed to only keep 2 SUP at a time - funds, space, and my poor wife's sanity.  So since I've shrank down from 245 to 210 lbs I decided to sell the Blair and keep the Fusion a my back up surf SUP.  I hear customs are fun but more delicate so if one is out for repairs I want the smaller as my backup.  If the 2 board situation ever changes I'll definitely add a Blair to the quiver.

Mik911,
I demoed a 9'5" mana in overhead waves and its was fun but even at 195lbs, it was really corky.  Felt like too much board.  The boxy rails just would just not bite into the wave.
I called Joe Blair and he let me use an 8'10" and  a 9'6" for 3 days while we camped at San Elijo Campground.  The 8'10" was incredible surfing, but once the chop came up it was tippy for me.  The 9'6" surfed great and was very stable in wind chop.  The Blair rails are thinner and really held well in 2-3 ft overhead waves.  Better than the mana.
I was considering buying this 10'1" for my wife.  Now I will just wait till we go down to San Diego again, and call Joe.

How wide is the Blair 9'6"?
I appreciated the width and stability of my 10' Mana today, as there was a lot of lump/chop in the surf zone today, despite only stomach high waves.
