Just loaded a video from our time trial which illustrates the problem - the Mobii is on my upper right arm and reads a nice back and forth motion when paddling on the right - but when I change sides its more of a circular motion without a clear back and forth point so now it has to start guessing what is going on - this way it will never be accurate - so either one on each arm or one on the paddle which transfers via ANT to device.

Has anyone tried to just put the 910XT on the paddle itself?

My GPS watch crapped out, so I'm looking at getting the 920XT GPS watch, does anyone have feedback on this newer model for paddling?  Any other recommendations?

Hi Robert. I've had the 920XT since January and previously had the 910XT. I love the 920. No really I wear it all the time. I set it to only switch on the GPS when using the activity settings, ie when doing exercise and one charge lasts a week. During non GPS mode it logs my steps and sleep which I found interesting at first. It also syncs with my phone by Bluetooth and gets messages on it (eg SMS etc) so I can have the phone in my pocket and read messages on the Garnin. Useful when I'm in a place I can't or don't want to bring out my phone from my pocket. It's not an Apple watch but it is perfect for my active lifestyle. It also syncs to Garmin Connect by my phone so no need to do all the dongle thing with a computer. So yes, I recommend the upgrade. I've not downloaded any new faces or apps but am told they are also great. I am happy the way it is.

A couple of downsides. Firstly you need to press a few keys to get the GPS activated and choose your sport before you set off, using the way I have set mine up. Secondly I found if it is on my left wrist, I can sometimes pause the Run or skip to next lap by my hand back hitting one of the two side buttons. No idea how this happens but paddling maybe the back of my hand is bending further back when my left hand is on the paddle handle. I just make sure it is tight on my wrist so it does not slip down. If you see any of my vids you'll see the watch on my left wrist.

I am sure there are plenty of functions I am not using but it is definitely a good upgrade from the 910 and something you can wear all the time.

Thank you for the feedback Off-shore, sounds like it will be a big upgrade from my old 301XT that died after leaking water when the rubber seal by the power button cracked.
