Had a look around the web for interesting info on non violent civil resistance.  That was on my mind a few days ago when the "How many members of this forum are women?" thread started up.  Very interesting thread to me.  I wanted to contribute, but others had spoken more eloquently.  Still wanted to contribute, so posted their thoughts here, in the 'offending' thread.  I thought it might reach a wider audience. 

Then I quoted Ghandi.  Stepped on a landmine.  Took PB's advice and looked around a bit.  That autobiography is public domain.  No time to read it (I don't scan books), so I looked for some reviews of it, not much, but none negative. 

Anyhow, looked  for some videos on non violent resistance and found some real gems. 

I'm no saint - not emulating anyone.  But, like my original post in this thread, I'll quote smarter people than me to illustrate my feelings.

Why get all bent out of shape because of some pics?  Because it makes me sick to see how men treat women in this world.  We're all pretty smart here on the zone.  We can read 'n write, some far better than others.  It's a very scary world out there for a lot of women.  Here in Hawaii, domestic violence is an accepted form of behavior in some cultures.  That's right - teenage girls get smacked around - and it's normal, accepted behavior.  The poor little pumpkins are just dating, trying to find the right guy.

I call shenanigans on this thread.  Too many downsides.  Get your porn somewhere else.  At the very least, the pics should include a board and a paddle, as the thread title suggests.

Nope, not at all bothered by the term "hot chicks".  I am bothered, though, by an admin who responds in such a base manner to a mostly civil discussion.  I don't give two f**ks whether IB and CR feel objectified.  You put up that post to make a personal statement about what you think about this whole discussion, and as a person who is an administrator and a decision maker regarding this forum, you behaved in poor taste.  You should set an example that elevates the forum. 
Throughout this entire debate, seeing someone in your position put up a post like that at this point in the discussion is really the only thing that pissed me off.
