newer boards vs. older
« on: March 04, 2012, 10:28:02 AM »
I have been thinking of replacing my mid-sized board. My quiver in SoCal consists of an 11'11 Big Red, (which I don't use much, but intend to keep forever) a Starboard 9'8 Extremist from 2008 and a newer 8'10 North Pacific custom. I find that with my local conditions I use the Starboard most. For a while now I have been wondering if I would find a noticeable improvement if I replaced it with a newer board. Maybe just a different board, in the same general size. I have been admiring the Naish Mana 9'5, which isn't so new. I am very comfortable on the 9'8 x 30 Extremist, so I don't need the extra width, but I want to maximize my fun quotient. Any thoughts? Also looking at a good deal on the Amudsen 9'9 surf.
