The Boardworks rep told me that we should start getting them next month...

What makes you that?  The partnership with Boardworks?  They still make custom boards.

Most likely referring to the fact that Inifinity now has Chinese made boards.

You can look at is as a negative or a positive.  Now they have the opportunity to reach a broader marker and have better brand penetration.  Sales out side of the USA bring money back into the country.  On top of that, not everyone is suited or ready for a custom board.

I'm a big fan of buying local, but the reality is somethings are going to be made in other countries.

Infinity has had surftech boards for years. What's the difference?

I can't imagine that boardworks is larger production than surftech. Why so down on boardworks? The two boardworks boards I've owned (PSH and C4) have been good quality boards. Way better than a GSI board that I had briefly. They seemed the equal of the the Surftech Laird I started with and almost as nice as the Naish 7'8 I'm riding now. And certainly equal to if not better quality than the starboard 7'11 that's gathering dust in my garage.

Just not sure how you can be so gung ho for starboard and naish production boards and rip so hard on boardworks. They're all made over seas in giant factories. They're all overpriced. I consider them all the same. I'm looking forward to a custom board in the near future.

It is good for Infinity.  Great designs for anyone who wants a taste without the wait or price of the custom board.  Once they ride it and get a feel for it they can go back to Steve or Dave and have them make a custom based on the pop out experience.

I have a PSH from boardworks and it's holding up great.  Very durable and looks much nicer than other boards of the same use/age.

It cracks me up when everyone talks about "pop-outs" and production boards with a negative slant, yet its what 90% of us are riding.  Your bicycles are pop-out, your car is a pop-out, your snowboards and skis are pop-outs.  Move on.

Are these things on the market yet - I've seen one in person, a rep had it, but haven't heard any feedback from riders.  The boards look great and the rep. told me they would sell for $1150?  Anyone out there tried one - please review!!

I saw them at the Expo.  They looked great, but they were definitely heavier than what you would get going through Infinity custom.  That said, I'll probably bring some into the shop.
