In a year or two I want to see them extend
those beautiful thin rails at the
tail all the way up and maybe flatten
the rocker forward for some
front foot speed. I'll
def. trade up, regardless it
makes riding an 8' board alot of fun.
For us bigger guys 26/27 " wide boards
are only fun on the wave.

Hey Newt,

Just for educational purposes, what was it about the board that you decided to sell it?

If it's any consolation, I just sold an 8'5"x30" Pocket Rocket that I just could never get comfortable on, yet another "Zoner" who has some size on me, found great success with it.

IOWs, in my case as I had expected, it was much more the board operator than it was the board.....  :-[  :D

So I'm curious to your experience with the 8'5" Pro, as it's right around the same range of the PR, and I'm wondering about the similarities, or lack there of....to help me better understand board design and it's associated ride characteristics.

Thanks,
pc -

for me its not really the board but waves in my area are a little weak for this board. plus i really like the pr a lot.  the pro is great in chest high or bigger waves where speed is critical. i really like nose riding and find on the pr i can do it all. only thing i don't like about the pr is on overhead waves it gets a little bouncy.  the pro is real great rail to rail i like it  a lot but enjoy the pr more for my style.

Newt 333 I'm leaning towards the 8'10" widepoint.  I think it has a little more volume and will be better all around board since sometimes all we have is choppy conditions .
Thanks

ya i looked at that board i like the 8'2 length and the shape but the 32 wide is just to wide for me I'm getting the new pr and the p.o.d see how those are next.  8;2 is still a sick board I'm sure you'll like it.
