I think some do and some don't.. and some more than others..  ;D .. Maybe it's old boards yes and new boards no.

I've noticed that with the new Naish boards the water beads and runs off like there's an oily coating.. Maybe the coating wears off in time and the pad will then start to absorb water.. Who knows..  :)

We tested that some time ago. The early pads adsorbed water like crazy--picked up several pounds during a surf session. Most of the newer ones do not, especially the smooth finish pads, but I just ripped a pad off one of my boards that is fairly new and picked up two pounds after a session. That'll teach me to go cheap. The Maxfield Provision pads are excellent. I'm sure there are other good ones too.

Thanks I would swear that  one board was heavier after I paddled but then again it could have been  noodle arm syndrome NAS

I get that a lot too. Even with my bullet, which I sometimes swear has picked up ten pounds but I open the drain and nothing comes out.

...and then they started smelling like old corpses. The deckpad on my PSH made me gag.

Lol noooo my feet smell like flowers...or you might very well be right. i think it came from me rinsing the board in freshwater, and then storing it in a bag. Not really blaming the board for that, but it is an indication the pad was holding water....but the pad was one of those thick ones..

Oh well that will do it. Is there a good way to wash them or just good old sope and water?

Oh man, I thought putting a wet board in a bag was not a good thing to do, kinda creates a suana-like environment inside the bag, could even delam a board?

well if that is all it takes, then I guess all my board should have delaminated. To me there has to be a some convenience built in to this.

The pad started smelling on that board, but not on the other boards.

Also I store my boards inside so no board cooking.
