Namotu, Fiji....SUP TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!

In early 2011 I had the incredible opportunity to travel with a small group of friends to Namotu Island, Fiji. The trip was scheduled as part of a photo shoot for the STANDUP JOURNAL and the photo spread can be seen in the edition of the magazine that just came out. (go get it if you haven't seen it yet!!)  The magazine focused, with good cause, primarily on the two professional SUP'ers on the trip..Sean Poynter and Talia Gangini.  The attached video was put together from a different perspective....that of regular SUP'ers... ranging in age from the early 40's to late 50's.....all of whom WERE EXPERIENCING THE SURF TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!  I also attempted to include some of the raw beauty of Namotu, both above and below the water....My God, THE WHOLE TRIP WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!.... Thanks for that! I play fiddle in an old time string band so I really appreciated the music.  Banjos and fiddles are rare in surf videos.  I'm new to sup but had a chance to surf Tavarua for a week years ago. It was one of the highlights of my life!

JD...I'm such a computer illiterate that I had to get help...both putting the video together and posting it on youtube!!!! BTW, nothing but good things to say about the way the Nah rides! Since my board got "lost" by the airlines (aaarrrggh!!)  it was great having it there! ....Tim

Huh..just the other night my wife says maybe its time to start sailing the s.pacific again(7years for her,onshore for 11years now) with our youngest 5 now,he's old enough to hold a course during a reef(shortin sail) im game!After these pics her eye's glazed over with some southern latitude stare & smile and walked away.

Well, after hearing all the stories and waiting more than half a lifetime, my dream came true. Namotu was everything it was cranked up to be... great people, crystal clear warm water, and perfect surf. We were there for a week and the swell was there for 6 days. Can't wait to go back!
