Have been using these FCS straps on Yakima bars and work a treat -

The D-rings hold tight and do not loosen at all with no moving parts
2 straps take around a minute to put on once you get the system down
Used bomber auto-locking ratcheting straps before but that was overkill
Nice videos btw Robert  :)

No, I would use two straps for blasting down the freeway, better safe than sorry.

Eagle, I like those fcs straps too and they work great but people just get confused by them despite it being so simple.  We have a hard time just getting rental customers to put the straps into the cam buckle from the bottom.

Thanks for the tip! Do you still strap it like that even if you will be blasting down the freeway?

This thread is from 2011, the one strap method was one of the first popular videos on our youtube channel :)

We just posted an updated video all about strapping boards to your car safely and efficiently, please check it out:

Robert,

This is one of the best, if not "the best" video for strapping boards to a vehicle I've ever watched.

I use the 2 strap Kanulocks, but I'm going to have to get two more straps that come through the inside of my truck since I travel at 70 mph (or more) going down the freeways to the upper coast of Texas.

Thanks for sharing this video.
