Glad to see you're on the water Shawn.  Do you have things up and running?  I left one I Coreban Icon in Playa Del Coco last trip and plan on bringing another 10 or 9-6 and a 9 Fusion in November.  Maybe we can meet up for some surf.  I'm going to shoot south, but I don't know how far.

You can ask him on Facebook.

I know Robby surfs the smaller sizes. He has the 7'3 (not the 7-8) in his quiver. So that makes me think he probably uses the 8'5 (not the 9'0) for non beach break waves.

I was told that Naish now has a policy that all team members ride off the shelf boards (other than graphics) so that customers can potentially experience exactly what the team riders do. A good philosophy I think.

Yes, but I would assume that make a board with and for the rider, then take that board and make it into a production board. I mean since they have the shaper and pretty much control the process all the way.

But yeah that makes more than sense  :)

I reckon Robby was riding the new 9'5 Hokua at Pavones, I worked this out from comparing other photos/sticker placement on the nose etc.

From what I've seen of Dave's boards, they are off the shelf with tweaks to suit the rider. For example Dave's fin boxes were moved on one of the boards I saw, and last year he had a Javelin that was hacked in the nose a bit to decrease the rocker. But other than that it was a stocker. all the racers are on stockers. I'd guess (almost bet) Kai's is the same board.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Or the 9'0''? as per the quote on their website:
9’0” If I throw one board in the truck it’s this one!

O.K. tautologies, here it is.

If you look at the brochure shot below, you see the 9'5 is the only size hokua where there's a gap between the top of the tail kick pad and the base of the first triangle going up the board, then look at the photo of Robby walking down the beach - same gap - he must be carrying the 9'5.
Then look at the stickers and sticker placement on the nose, freeze frame the Pavones film and - bingo - it's the same board....well, that's my theory anyways!

Of course Robby could have put his stickers in exactly the same place on all his Hokua's, which would completely blow my theory :D

I'm pretty sure that board Robby is carrying is the 9.0 Hokua.

Robby was riding the 8'5" in Pavones...we were all drooling over it.
We don't see many boards down here :P   Robby felt our pain & sent a patch of boards to a family member here in CR,oh ya..sold out ,real fast ;D
Good to know i'm riding on what the pro's are on, Thx Robby..
