New Fit 11
« on: July 12, 2011, 11:41:57 AM »
Just got a hold of a 2011 Nah Skwell Fit 11' and took some shots of it. This thing is light for an 11 footer. Website says 25.3 lbs but this one feels lighter. Target is fitness, long-distance and recreational racing. I'm hoping to paddle it later this afternoon and report back...   Paddle on,   JD

Got her out for a sesh this afternoon... Waves were 1' to 1-1 /2' and choppy onshore... She "loves to truck" is the best way I can describe the Fit 11. Lots of glide and I actually surfed her, too. Very stable in the chop and just "trucks" along. Much more stable in the surf than the NSRace12'6. Now, I have to get her out with the Wifey on the Race12'6 so we can do some comparing "one on one"...          Paddle on,   JD

Sounds good - How did the comparison go ?
I'm looking at this one instead of the 12'6 as I'm mostly into cruising and looking at downwinders
Have tried the 12'6 which is a bit tippy but cut's through the chop like butter - but are looking forward to your comparison.....

Oh man, sorry; didn't realize I never posted the review... The Nah Skwell Race126 is faster (to be expected) but the Fit is a much better "all-around" board. It's much more stable, plenty fast enough for cruising, and long-distance; and did I mention how stable it is? It's light at 25 lbs (not bad for an 11 footer with a lot of volume) and it even surfs small knee high surf.
I had the whole family (around 10 people) out on her this past Sunday and everyone loved riding the Fit 11... Another thing I like about this board; The wood deck is actually part of the high-pressure, sandwich construction process with an 'extra' sheet across the standing area. Very well made board that won't break the bank...        Paddle on,    JD
