I am not seeing a live registration from him so it was likely not accepted.  BiggieBoy was likely picked up as a non SUP name.  Please have him reregister using a very obvious SUP name.

Thanks

It was challenging. No Gmail and had to add sup in my handle. Upper and lower case and numbers in PW. But worth it!

I also registered 2 or three times with no response. Kept waiting for approval.. Finally emailed the main site admin and he/she looked up my attempts and then approved one. My username now was one that did not get approved, possibly because it was suspicious??

There is no restriction on the Gear forum for registered users.  I would suggest trying again.  PM requires Security characters to avoid abuse.

ok - i'll try again in the gear forum.

i don't know if you got my email yesterday, but the security letters for PM's are a pain..., i got them wrong, had to re-type my PM, got them wrong again, and gave up.

i was talking to a distributor about a board i am interested in buying, and when i get around to trying again, i will ask him if we can converse by email instead.

this will cost your site page views.

i'm new on this forum, but have participated on many others - some with huge traffic. none require security letters for PM's, and as far as I know there is no problem.

has there been a problem in the past?

if not, why not try going without them, and see how it works?

The good thing with the new security letters, other sites included, is that you know the person is persistent.

Yes, it has been a problem.  This is a stock option on all forum software and is used by many/most.  It is a necessary step.

FYI,
I thought I sent a PM to SW, about a week ago and never got any response, so I went to my messages and it appears my PM never went out.  I also got the letters wrong the first time, but it didn't make me write the PM all over.  So how do I know if the PM actually got sent?

If reentry was not required then it is unlikely that it was sent.  I would suggest trying again.
