Ok starting to think this one through, seems to me that cat's pyjamas, ducks nut, cat's ass are units of quality or awesomeness. Bee's d1ck and knats ass are units of measure.

And I was just starting to come to terms with metric and imperial..... :D

Actually, you should feel free to use whatever expression you want, and the rest of us should mind our own beesknees.   ;D

Found this youtube vid of Brian Szymanski discussing his "14' california version surfrace"...certainly looks and sounds like the Coast Runner...

What is the weight difference between the Epoxy and Carbon Coast Runners?

Coolhead

I have friends with both and felt them both.. You can notice the difference but it's not huge.. I'm guessing about 2kgs (4-5lbs)

DJ

I find this board interesting too. Suitable for choppy waters of Mediterranean. The question is if the price difference between carbon and epoxy board is worth it, if the weight difference is about 2 kgs.

Not sure what the production weight difference is....I originally thought that my AST Coast Runner was not much more than my 12-6 Freerace, which weighs a fraction under 30 lbs  (13.6kg's)....not.  The very convenient side handles apparently twisted my mind into thinking so....

The AST Coast Runner that I have weighs in at a bit under 36lbs....pretty well what the website now says.... I kinda wish that I coughed up the money for the carbon version.

If you can afford it, go for the carbon board.   I wish that I had.  And seeing as how that Starboard is not doing a 16' board next year ( >:(), then I'm thinking I'll buy another Coast Runner.........................................a Carbon one!
